Hanging out in the trees.
Tuesday, April 11, 2017

Today we were asked to assist Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research, Inc.in placing two Great Horned baby owls back in a newly made nest. An amazing day learning about the owls from the volunteer handler Ray. Both owls had fallen out of their nests.

Ocean Pines residance Michael Nolen, Michelle Mason and their yellow lab Tucker found the one owl. Tris-State Bird Rescue and Research stepped in with the capturing and caring for the owl that was found.  Tri-State also had another owl that needed to be placed in a nest so together we assited Ray the volunteer handler in placing them both up 60 feet into a tree.  With a basket turned into a nest the owls settled into their new home. Good luck little ones and welcome to Ocean Pines.
