King Vision Donated to Ocean Pines EMS - Ocean Pines
Sunday, July 14, 2013

Recently, Dr. William Wild purchased and donated a King Vision portable video laryngoscope for the Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Department EMS crews. This cutting edge technology is an invaluable tool for our department for airway management. King Systems is one of the industry’s leading manufacturers and distributors of airway management devices. The King Vision is an affordable, durable and portable video laryngoscope. It is designed for indirect laryngoscopy, difficult endotracheal intubations as well as routine intubations. The King Vision accommodates minimum mouth openings of 13mm for the standard blade and 18mm for the channeled blade making it effective for the majority of adult patient populations. The King video laryngoscopes combine the best features of traditional laryngoscopes, fiber optic laryngoscopes and new cutting-edge visualization technology to offer clinicians an immediate and clear view of the vocal cords. This results in a more accurate intubation while minimizing soft tissue manipulation. All Ocean Pines Advanced Life Support providers have undergone training on the new device and it has been placed in service. Dr. Wild is an Emergency Department Physician at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin and lives locally in Ocean Pines. We appreciate his support and commitment to EMS!
