At approximately 8:40am on Friday, October 7, 2022, the Ocean Pines Vol. Fire Department was alerted for a fuel leak at the Mumford's Landing Marina; Worcester Central advised of a sunken vessel with fuel floating in the water. Upon arrival units found a commercial vessel with its stern suburged and a visible fuel slick on the water. The Worcester County Hazmat Team was requested to respond and absorption pads and booms were deployed in the water to contain and absorb the fuel that had leaked. The scene was turned over to the Worcester County Hazmat Team & Fire Marshal's office.
