During the meeting, President Bertino presented multiple career and volunteer members of the Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Department, Showell Volunteer Fire Department, and Worcester County Emergency Services with a Commendation from the Worcester County Commissioners for life-saving efforts on Saturday, December 17, 2022. Members receiving the Commendation included OPVFD Fire Chief Steve Grunewald, OPFD EMS crew members (Alex Lasley, Jessica Wells, Lt. Glenn Shockley, and Colby Sirman), OPVFD Fire and Rescue crew members (Michael Allen, Capt. Mike Mather, Ralph Decker, Lt. Joe Enste, Bob Gilbert, Lt. Steve Ready, and 1st Asst Chief Joey Widgeon), SVFD Fire and Rescue crew members (David Smarte, David Gears, Adam Smith, Cody Hall, and Scott Wolpin), SFD EMS crew members (Chris Rathel and Timmy Peters), and Worcester County Fire Dispatcher, Wade Taylor.

The leadership of the Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Department and Showell Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank the Worcester County Commissioners for this special recognition and President Bertino for presiding over this presentation.
