On Friday, March 29, 2024, at approximately 10:20 am, the Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched for a motor vehicle accident in the area of Racetrack Road and Cathage Road. Worcester Central advised of two vehicles, with patients complaining of leg and head injuries from hitting a windshield.

Upon their arrival, Ocean Pines Paramedics confirmed the report and advised incoming units that one subject would need to be extracted from their vehicle. First responders, utilizing hydraulic tools, were able to quickly complete a procedure called a door pop to provide clear access to remove the patient from the vehicle. Both patients were evaluated on the scene and transported to Tidal Health in Salisbury for further evaluation and treatment."
