The Ocean Pines Fire Department participated in a controlled burn hosted by the Berlin Fire Company on November 6, 2010. The day started off with Vent Enter Search (VES) tactics, which helps firefighters perform quick searches for trapped victims inside of a burning building. Interior burns were then conducted in accordance with NFPA 1403 standards. These burns similate real fires in a structure. The drill was completed by burning the house down. Also on scene were units from Showell, Newark, Powellville and Stockton.
