In 2010, the Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Department was able to purchase 3 lots within the community of Ocean Pines. This allowed the department to hold an annual House Raffle to raise funds for the department. The House Raffle for 2011 was a huge hit with the community. The house was a brand new stick built home with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a screened in porch and a one car garage. Built by Harbourside Homes, the builder added upgraded features like hardwood floors, tile in the bathrooms, custom cabinets in the kitchen and stainless steel appliances. The house was located at 864 Ocean Parkway in the South area of Ocean Pines. We sold over 2,500 tickets and the drawing brought a great crowd to the house, our biggest turn out in history. With this success we would like to announce that there will be a 2012 House Raffle. The new location of this house will be 286 Ocean Parkway which is located in North Ocean Pines. We will have photos to come of the property and information of the home soon to follow with the coming New Year. The drawing will again be held on Labor Day, September 2012. Pursuant to IRS code section 3402(q), the winner will be responsible for any income taxes derived from the drawing.
