At 10:54am on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, the Ocean Pines Vol. Fire Department was alerted for a motor vehicle on Racetrack Rd, near Adkins Rd Spur. Ocean Pines Paramedic units were first to arrive on scene, confirming a multi-vehicle accident with multiple patients, no entrapment. Chief Grunewald established command and requested that Heavy Rescue 11 provide blocking to the accident scene. Occupants from each vehicle were transported to Atlantic General Hospital for further evaluation. After a brief period of cleanup for leaking fluids and debris, the vehicles were towed and the scene was turned over to the Maryland State Police for further investigation.
