MVC w/Fire

At 5:32pm on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, the Ocean Pines Vol. Fire Department was alerted for a motor vehicle accident in The Parke at Ocean Pines. As units were responding, dispatch advised that the vehicle involved was on fire. 1100 Paramedic 3 arrived on scene first and confirmed a fully involved vehicle fire. Chief Grunewald established command as engine 1102 deployed their front bumper line and was able to quickly extinguish the fire. Upon extinguishment, it was learned that the operator of the vehicle had struck a contractor utility trailer which then resulted in the vehicle leaving the roadway and catching fire. Thanks to the quick thinking and brave contractors, the driver was pulled from the vehicle with no known injuries. Due to the nature of the incident, the scene was turned over to the Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office and the Ocean Pines Police Department for further investigation.
