At 11:01am on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, the Ocean Pines Vol. Fire Department was alerted for a natural gas leak. Chief Grunewald arrived first on scene and confirmed an active leak, established command, and requested that Sandpiper Energy respond to repair the damaged gas line. A crew staged at the bumper of Tower 11 prepared to deploy the front bumper line, if the situation escalated. Once the active leak was contained, the scene was turned over to Sandpiper Energy for further investigation and repairs. Always remember to call 811/Miss Utility before you dig and pay close attention to their markings to avoid incidents such as this!
