It is with much regret that we share the passing of Life Member and past chief, Richard A. Passwater Sr., Ph.D. on Thursday April 28, 2022. Chief Passwater, or DOC as he was often referred to is a legend within the OPVFD; serving as a volunteer firefighter and EMT for 25 years as well as chief of the department from from 1984 to through 1992. Chief Passwater was also inducted into the Delmarva Firefighters Hall of Fame in 1993.
