At 8:45am on Saturday June 4, 2022, the Ocean Pines Vol. Fire Department was alerted for a motor vehicle accident on Route 90, prior to the first bridge heading towards Ocean City; Worcester Central advised of a six-vehicle accident. Upon their arrival, the crews from two Ocean Pines medic units began assessing patients while the crew of  Rescue 11 went to work addressing leaking fluids. Paramedics evaluated all occupants and all refused further assistance at that time.

After an extensive clean up, the scene was turned over to the Maryland State Police Department for further investigation.

Please remember to properly secure items to your vehicle/trailers etc. when transporting cargo. We've learned that a bicycle had fallen off of an uninvolved vehicle while it was driving eastbound and landed in the eastbound travel lane or route 90 which contributed to this incident.
