On Tuesday November 21, 2023 at approximately 11:07 am the Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Department was requested to assist the Berlin Volunteer Fire Company with a residential structure fire on Sinepuxent Road. The crew from Engine 1102 was assigned to complete the primary search of the structure to ensure all occupants had evacuated. Crews then went to work to assist with checking different areas of the house for extension of the fire and completing overhaul operations. While on scene, an Ocean Pines paramedic unit was requested to respond to the area to provide medical care to an occupant of the structure who had escaped the fire via a window. The occupant was transported to Atlantic General Hospital for further treatment. The scene was turned over to the Worcester County Fire Marshal's office for further investigation.
