Engine Company Operations - Ocean Parkway

October 13, 2012

The officers and members of the Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Department met on Saturday, October 13, 2012 for our quarterly "Super Saturday" training day. Once every 3 months, we hold an all day training day to perform training as needed to meet our annual training requirements. The topic of this training was engine company operations, with a specific focus on hoseline selection and hoseline management. We spent some time talking about factors that effect line selection and placement, as well as fire ground flows and water supply options. We then focused the remainder of our time performing practical scenarios, pulling hoses and flowing water, to give the members experience with different sized hoses and nozzles, etc. Another great training day came to an end with the members performing this crucial task flawlessly. Thanks to the members for their dedication and hard work!
