Oil Spill

At 6:46pm on Saturday, August 1, 2020, the Ocean Pines Vol. Fire Department was alerted for an oil spill in the canal next to the Swim & Racquet Club Pool. Engine 1101 w/Assistant Chief Widgeon were first on scene and began investigating the source of the spill. Upon his arrival, Chief Grunewald established command and initiated communications with FM3 of the Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office. As a precaution, the county Hazmat Team was activated and the scene was turned over to them for further investigation, allowing all OPVFD units to return to their stations.
