Automobile Extrication Drill

April 11, 2021

On Sunday April 22, 2021, the Ocean Pines Vol. Fire Department along with the Showell Vol. Fire Department participated in their annual Automobile Extrication Drill. Crews from both fire stations worked with each other to review and execute basic and complex extrication scenarios on multiple vehicles. Our departments share a territorial border and are often working together on incidents. Days like today go a long way to not only build individual skills but they allow us to learn from each other and strengthen the existing relationships between the departments.

After the drill, both departments returned to the South Station to prepare the apparatus for the next call and enjoy a meal together.

Special thanks to Racetrack Auto & Marine for donating their facilities and vehicles as well as Ronnie Carr- Rescue Specialist-Municipal Emergency Services for providing an additional instructor and access to one of their mobile eDraulic Trucks and tools.
