Each summer, as visitors come to the area, we see a large increase in traffic along roadways in our first due; often causing periods of stop and go, sudden stops, or even standstillsPlease remember to stay alert, slow downand avoid distractions like cell phones, GPS, adjusting radio controls, talking with passengers etc. ZerodeathsMD.com says that “on average, more than 180 people die every year in Maryland from distracted driving crashes, and more than 26,000 more are injured.  Think about the dangerous consequences of a missed stop light or failing to stop at a crosswalk. Now, compare that with missing a call or sending a text. You’re right: there is no comparison”.

Units on Scene:  Rescue 11, Engine 1101, 1100 A1 & A2, and FP 11
