At 8:25am on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, the Ocean Pines Vol. Fire Department was alerted for a motor vehicle accident in the area of Racetrack Rd and Adkins Road spur; Worcester Central advised that it was a single vehicle into a tree. Paramedics arrived on scene and confirmed the initial report and advised one occupant was still in their vehicle. Chief Steve Grunewald assumed command and instructed Rescue 11 to take a blocking position and had their crew secure the power to the vehicle. The occupant was evaluated on scene and was transported to Tidal Health in Salisbury. After a brief period of cleanup, the scene was turned over to the Maryland State Police Department for further investigation.
