At 5:34pm on Friday November 12, 2021, the Ocean Pines Vol. Fire Department was alerted for a residential structure fire at 21 Harpoon Rd. Worcester Central advised that a neighbor was attempting to extinguish a deck that was on fire. Additional responses were requested from the Berlin, Bishopville, and Showell Fire Departments.
Chief Grunewald was first on scene, established command and confirmed a single family home with smoke showing from the front deck. A crew from Engine 1102 led by 1st Assistant Chief Widgeon quickly deployed a bumper line to finish extinguishing the Fire.
The scene was turned over to the Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office for further investigation.
