On Sunday November 13, 2022 at approximately 1:46am, the Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Racetrack Road and Cathage Road for a vehicle fire as a result of a motor vehicle accident; dispatchers advised a vehicle was into a tree and the caller could not confirm if there were occupants due to the fire. While our paramedic and fire units were en route, a Worcester County Sheriff was first on scene and confirmed the vehicle was fully involved and located the occupant laying directly behind the vehicle. The Sheriff's deputy immediately began to drag the occupant to safety and was assisted by an Ocean Pines Police Officer once they arrived.
