At approximately 6:17am on Thursday, April 6, 2023, the Ocean Pines Vol. Fire Department was alerted to respond to a motor vehicle collision on Racetrack Road in the area of Adkins Road; Worcester Central advised of a two vehicle accident (possibly head-on).
Upon arrival, 1st Assistant Chief Joey Widgeon established command of the incident and confirmed a two vehicle MVC w/out entrapment. Both drivers were evaluated on scene and transported to Tidal Health in Salisbury for further medical treatment.
After securing power to both vehicles and clearing the roadway of debris, the scene was turned over to the Maryland State Police Department for further investigation. Racetrack road was closed for approximately 20 minutes.
STAY ALERT: This is the second serious MVC in this stretch of Racetrack Road in the last 14 days. Please avoid all distractions while driving and remember to drive the posted speed limit to give yourself and others sufficient time to react to changing conditions.
